Yes! Nike Drops Anchorman Kicks.
From the Campus Socialite. Check out the new Nike SB Dunk Low Will Ferrell. My ass will be heading to Undefeated tonight to grab a pair of these Ron Burgandy inspired kicks in a size 13.

Good job, Nike. First you pull the Lebron video, creating this huge hype over nothing (seriously wasn’t that bad). Now you make these shoes for a guy who hasn’t made a good movie since 2003 (liked Stranger than Fiction but come on no one else saw that). Oh and let’s put in colors for USC, home of the “we don’t pay our athletes” athletic department. That’ll be great! Ten bucks says Ferrell won’t be on the sidelines when (not if) they get some sanctions. What’s next, Nike? You gonna drop Tiger Woods for Mickelson? Make some great upper chest-supporting golf shirts?

I can’t argue with you on the LeBron thing, other than to remind you all again that taping at that camp was in fact, against the rules.
But as far as the kicks go, why hate? First of all, they’re not in USC colors, they’re based on the suit he wore in Anchorman. Second of all, these are probably the freshest kicks Nike’s come out with this year. As far as color combinations go, this is the best thing they’ve done with dunks since last fall and it may be the best looking shoe they’ve come out with since the Yi’s.
Addressing your claim that Will Ferrell hasn’t made a decent movie since ’03: Anchorman, possibly his best movie dropped in ’04 as did Melinda and Melinda, quite possibly his best performance (toss up with Stranger Than Fiction and Elf) where he captures Woody Allen’s signature neurosis and made it his own. 2005 gave us Wedding Crashers (MA! THE MEATLOAF!). As far as 2006 goes, you can’t just write off Stranger Than Fiction. He shared the screen with some of the best actors of our generating (Maggie Gyllenhall, Emma Thompson and Dustin Hoffman) and proved he could act with the big boys. Also, 2006′s Ricky Bobby and 2008′s Stepbrothers may not have brought the noise of Anchorman, but the bar was set pretty goddamn high.
Aaaaand: Lefty’s been working out. Those Baclay’s golf shirts have been showing off his new and improved pecks. Hater.
You an take shots at anyone on top of their game, but for my money, Lefty will always be the peoples’ champion, Will Ferrell will always be a comedic icon and as long as Nike continues to be bold and inventive with the shoes they come out with, they will always be sneaker kings.
